T-town Advances to State Bass Fishing Tourney

Teutopolis High School captured the championship of the Bass Fishing Sectional at Forbes Lake Friday.

The Wooden Shoes No. 1 won with 14 pounds, 13 ounces followed by Centralia No. 1 8 pounds, 4 ounces, Robinson No. 1 6 pounds, 6 ounces, Salem No. 2 5 pounds, 8 ounces, Carlyle No. 1 5 pounds, 7 ounces, Flora No. 2 4 pounds, 15 ounces, Carlyle No. 2 4 pounds, 12 ounces, Teutopolis No. 2 4 pounds, 8 ounces, South Central No. 1 4 pounds, 7 ounces, Patoka No. 1 3 pounds, 12 ounces, Newton No. 1 3 pounds, 11 ounces, Patoka No. 2 3 pounds, 8 ounces, Effingham St. Anthony No. 2 2 pounds, 15 ounces, Newton No. 2 2 pounds, 15 ounces and Centralia No. 2 2 pounds, 12 ounces.

The top three teams advance to State and those included T-town, Centralia and Robinson. Salem is the alternate.

Coach Jeff Niebrugge's team will head to the State Tournament Friday and Saturday at Carlyle Lake. Team members are Kendall Tabbert, Jacob Pals, Cauy Hewing and Clint Apke. Driver is Corey Sandschaefer.

Neoga No. 1 competed in the Bass Fishing Sectional at Lake Shelbyville. Winning was Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond with 9 pounds, 4 ounces, Tolono Unity No. 1 with 6 pounds, 15 ounces and Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin No. 1 with 5 pounds, 13 ounces.

Neoga finished seventh with 3 pounds, 4 ounces.
