The NHL has suspended the Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson for three games. Wilson took out two Pittsburgh Penguins players in consecutive games with hits to the head, breaking the jaw of Zach Aston-Reese. Reese will require surgery and is out for the rest of the playoffs.

The Dallas Stars will reportedly hire the University of Denver's Jim Montgomery to be their next head coach. Montgomery takes over for Ken Hitchcock, who retired last month.

The NHL will again stage two exhibition games in China this fall. The Boston Bruins will take on the Calgary Flames on September 15 in Shenzhen and on the 19th in Beijing.
