The St. Anthony boys and girls bowling teams traveled to Mount Vernon Monday and were dealt a couple of tough losses. The promising results from Saturday did not carry over to Monday. Mount Vernon won the boys match 2,413 to 2,327 and also the girls match 2,091 to 1,597.
"Overall it was not a good night for the Bulldog bowlers," said Coach Phil Zaccari. "Our brightest spot for the boys was Zaine Reiss' personal best of 210 and Dalton Anderson's personal best of 199. Other than that we generally had a hard time adjusting to the lane conditions. It was like everything was just one or two boards off leaving us a lot of splits and just misses on spares.
"The girls did not fair much better. Kassy Dammerman was once again a steady performer for us and Erin Goeckner also had one solid game other than that we had trouble picking up our spares. Like the boys we had a lot of near misses.
"Mount Vernon did a great job defending their home. We have a couple days to get ready for Centralia this Thursday at home. We will definitely be working on picking up spares," concluded Zaccari.
