ALTON -- The St. Anthony High School boys bowling team opened its match schedule by dropping four matches at Alton Monday.

"Once again, we did better than we did last year," said Coach Phil Zaccari. "We had trouble converting our spares, especially the single pins and that really hurt us today. We kind of got it going the last game, but splits in the 10th by Zaine and Neil hurt our final numbers.  We get a little time off now so we can get to work on those spares."

Alton finished with a 3,280 total followed by Jerseyville 2,853, Bethalto Civic Memorial 2,715 and St. Anthony 2,267.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Neil Ritz 180-221-135 -- 536, Liam Andrews 190-161-169 -- 520, Dalton Anderson 143-118-165 -- 426, Cody Pike 145-103-169 -- 417 and Zaine Reiss 150-123-135 -- 408.
