Hearts Compete in Cumberland Skull & Crossbones Invitational

TOLEDO -- Effingham High School competed in the Cumberland Skull & Crossbones Wrestling Invitational Monday.

Brandon Marschewski was the highest place finish for the Hearts in fourth. Marschewski defeated his opening opponent with a pin in 3:40 then fell in the next two contests 9-7 and a pin in 3:56.

Brett Hodges captured two wins at 160 with a 16-0 victory in the opener then a 10-2 win after suffering a 17-5 loss. He fell in the final contest 6-0.

The Hearts will be back in action Thursday at Mattoon.
