Cayla's Stars Cheer Teams Earn Honors

Cayla's Stars cheer teams competed at the 2016 A.A.U. Illinois State championships held at St. Anthony High School in Effingham Saturday.

Cayla's had four cheer teams competing at the competition that included over 60 teams. The Tiny Level 1, Youth Level 1 and Junior Level 2 teams took home Illinois State Champion titles. The Senior Level 3 team got second place.

Among the State Champion titles, the Youth Level 1 team and Junior Level 2 teams also earned overall level 1 and 2 titles.

"After many injuries this season, the teams all overcame the obstacles and performed some amazing routines on the competition floor," said Coach Cayla Myers. "We are proud of all the hard work that all of the athletes have put in this year."

Cayla's will end the season this Saturday at the first A.A.U. Nationall cheerleading championships in Springfield.
