Strongman Event is Success Despite Weather

While Mother Nature was fierce in the early morning hours of the day of the Second Annual Strongman and Strongwoman competition in Strasburg, she stopped in just enough time to let a group of mere humans show they can also be pretty tough.
 
After about five inches of rain hit the village in just a few hours, much of the Strasburg Homecoming events, such as the band and the tractor pull, had to be rescheduled. However, the Strongman and Woman competition and 5K run/walk went on as planned.
 
A large group of spectators enjoyed what turned out to be a nice day after the rain and watched the competitors vie in a Farmer’s Carry, Fire Truck Harness Pull, Tractor Tire Flips, and Atlas Stone Lift.

Overall winners:

Overall Women's Top 3 - Mollie Adams, Effingham, Nancy Miller Plank, Arthur, and Christina Kauffman, Humboldt. Overall Men's Top 3 - Jack Oye, Arthur, Ben Siemer, Effingham, and Cameron Je'Mar Hall, Decatur.

Women’s Group 1 (age 30 and under) Final

Winners were awarded a prize pack from GNC, membership to The Gym in Strasburg and more. And, of course, the title of Strasburg’s Strongest Woman and Man.  The Strasburg Lions also sold food to add to the festivities. All proceeds from the event support the Strasburg Lions Club.
