Blackhawks Hold Presser For Toews, Kane

(Chicago, IL) -- The Blackhawks officially introduced the new long-term deals of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane Wednesday. The star forwards were signed to eight-year contract extensions through the 2022-23 season last week. The contracts are worth a reported $84-million each. Kane and Toews each agreed to five-year, $31.5-million extensions in 2009.


Blues Sign Butler, Ferriero

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Blues are bringing in defenseman Chris Butler and forward Benn Ferriero. The team has signed the pair to one-year, two-way contracts. Butler recorded two goals and 14 assists in 82 games with Calgary last season. Ferriero spent most of last year with Utica in the AHL and had 19 goals and 10 helpers in 54 contests.
