Carpenter Claims Second Straight Indy 500 Pole
(Indianapolis, IN) -- Ed Carpenter will sit on the pole for a second straight Indianapolis 500. His four-lap average of 231.067-miles-per-hour was best among the nine fastest qualifiers on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He knocked off James Hinchcliffe on his final lap. Hinchcliffe will start second and be joined by Will Power on the front row. Helio Castroneves is fourth and on the second row with Simon Pagenaud and Marco Andretti. The green flag drops on the Indy 500 on May 25.
