Teutopolis and St Anthony high schools traveled to Coffeen Lake to compete in a Head to Head Fishing Tournament. This was the first competition for both schools for the 2014 season as both schools try to sort out who the sectional qualifiers will be for their respective schools.
The weather cooperated and a total of 21 fishermen participated with 14 bringing fish to the scales after the six hours of fishing. There is a size restriction that allows each fisherman to bring one fish over 15” and two fish under 15” to the scales.
Teutopolis grabbed the top seven finishes. Cody Will’s three fish weighed 6.45 lbs. for the winning weight. The big bass for the day caught by Jordan Bloemer at 4.35 lbs. helped secure second spot for a total of 6.32 lbs. Colin Niebrugge finished third with three fish weighing 6.16 lbs.
Other final weights in order were:
Jacob Roepke three fish 5.97 lbs.
Collin Jansen two fish 5.32 lbs.
Riley Drees three fish 5.06 lbs.
Luke Jansen two fish 4.00 lbs.
Alex Hoelscher one fish 3.75 lbs.
Devin Niebrugge two fish 3.39 lbs.
Eli Dasenbrock one fish 3.26 lbs.
Ty Kinkelaar one fish 2.92 lbs.
Justis Coventry one fish 2.90 lbs.
Neil Ritz one fish 2.77 lbs.
