Carl Edwards Outlasts Field, Rain To Win At Bristol

(Bristol, TN) -- Carl Edwards outlasted a lengthy rain delay and the field to win Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Drivers nearly completed the scheduled 500 laps but heavy rains began with just under three laps to go, ending the race under caution.  Edwards won his third race at Bristol and the 22nd of his career. Teammate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished a career-best second while Aric Almirola also had his best finish in third. Tony Stewart and Marcos Ambrose completed the top-five. It was Stewart's best run since last year's sprint car crash in which he suffered a broken leg and ended his season.
