The Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library is pleased to hos t author Neil Burkey from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15 in the Fearday Café.
Raised in Altamont, Illinois, Burkey now lives and wri tes in Ireland. He has had several short stories published in the Dublin Re view and Guts magazine, and received a Literature Bursary Award from the Ar ts Council of Ireland in 2015. His essays have appeared in the Irish Times and UK Independent. As an editor, Burkey has worked on titles for the Europ ean Court of Justice, the Bush Theatre in London and the Merton College in Oxford. Writer’s Retreats – which focuses on literary cabins, creative hide aways and favored writing spaces of iconic authors- is Burkey’s first book. Burkey will sign copies of his book and copies of the book will be for sal e at $25 each.
