Numerous studies have shown t hat parents who expose children to early language and literacy, create a bo nd that teaches vocabulary, introduces the connection between pictures and words, and promotes quality time spent with the people they love the most. This reinforces a parent or caregiver’s role as your child’s first teacher . Parents and caregivers provide those 0 to 5 the opportunity to have a he ad start which strengthens their confidence to succeed.
More than 80 young readers are currently working through 1,000 Books to Kindergarten with Effingham Public Library and all of our younges t readers are encouraged to join the free program.
