Local Sports Calendar

On Saturday, April 20th Effingham Comedy will be hosting a stand up comedy show at Tuscan Hills Winery to benefit the Effingham County Animal Shelter. Showtime is 8 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The show will be hosted by Amber Klear, former Effingham/Teutopolis native, and will feature Reena Calm (Laughfest, Just for Laughs, Limestone Comedy), Luke Swanson and Patrick Garrity. Reena has been featured on "One Night Stand Up" and "LOL Chicago" as well as performed at some of the most prestigious comedy festivals in the country. 

Money raised will help offset the $10,000 that the Effingham County Animal Shelter will need to raise to help with building funds. 

Tickets can be purchased by visiting Effingham Comedy on Facebook or calling the winery. The show is in memorial to Amber Klear's former dog, Henry, who accompanied her on her comedy travels before his passing. She now dedicates at least four shows a year to raising awareness and funds for animal causes in his honor. 

Effingham Comedy has previously raised money for Freedom 68, Effingham County Humane Society, and more.
