Effingham Public Library Presents EIU Living History Program

The Effingham Public Library will host Eastern Illinois University’s Living History Program for Women’s History and Awareness Month. The program, will feature interpretations of important women in history at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at the Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library.

“EIU’s Living History Project is a fun and educational program that gives our patrons a chance to get a glimpse of history from these talented college students who portray different historical roles,” said Programming Outreach Manager Catherine Bailey. Each of the students will give a short first-person performance. Student presentations include: Kamae Coffey, who will play the role of reporter Nellie Bly; Kathrine Gosnell, who will play the role of U.S. first lady detective Kate Warne; Miranda Smith, who will play the role of England’s Queen Elizabeth I; and Emma Dambek, who will play the role of computer scientist and businesswoman Margaret Hamilton.
