A Senior Living Seminar entitled “Living the Life of Retirement and Beyond” will be offered to the public on Saturday November 17 at Faith Lutheran church in Shumway. Several speakers will address aging issues that confront all people. Pastor Jason Rensner will speak to some of the emotional issues that come with growing older. Reverend Roger Marshall will outline a system for organizing your important papers and funeral plan considerations. Ashley Dillingham and staff from Effingham St Anthony Hospital will talk about Health Care Directives, Organ Donor, Home Health Care, Hospice and other health related topics. Emily Miller of the Lutheran Care Center will discuss various senior residential options being offered. Eric Gutberlet of LHM will complete the seminar with a program entitled “The Joy of Giving” explaining the many options for leaving a legacy to future generations. Lunch will be provided and a mini “Health Fair” will be offered to attendees.
The seminar is a Christian non denominational source of information designed to prepare families for the inevitable events associated with aging. Selected speakers come from organizations that specialize in providing services and information helpful in our retirement years.
