(Ardmore, PA) -- Justin Rose is the winner of the 2013 U.S. Open.  Rose carded a final-round, even-par 70 to finish at one-over par on the East Course at Merion Golf Club and claim his first major title. The Englishman says winning this tournament is a thrill.

Third-round leader Phil Mickelson shot four-over on the final day to finish two shots back in a tie for second with Jason Day at plus-three. "Lefty" was seeking his first U.S. Open title on his 43rd birthday, but settled instead for his record sixth runner-up finish. Tiger Woods shot a four-over 74 on the final day to finish tied for 32nd at 13-over par. It was his highest score ever at a major as a professional.
