Canadian Adam Hadwin is at the top of the leaderboard after the opening round of the U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, Thursday.

His 4-under 66 round put him one shot ahead of five players tied for second, including Rory McIlroy. But it wasn’t a good day for Phil Mickelson, who shot a 8-over 78 and may miss the cut.
