High-profile pro golfer Dustin Johnson was paid some $125 million to join the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf league, according to a report in the U.K. newspaper, ‘The Telegraph.’

Several other prominent golfers will be playing in London’s LIV Golf Invitational series next week, but Johnson was a big surprise, since he’d said in February that he was “fully committed” to the PGA Tour. One of Johnson’s sponsors, Royal Bank of Canada, dropped him after news of his defection.
