Class 2A Olney Regional

Effingham competed in the Olney Regional and finished with its best round of the year but did not advance as a team but will be sending three individuals on to sectional action.

"We came up short but it was a real good effort," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "We had Colby Haynes, Ryker Schneider and Ethan Ritz all qualify for the sectional and all finished their rounds off by parring four of the last five holes.

"Jett Volpi and David Splechter also came within two shots of being in the playoff for the 10 individual qualifier spot. Jett and Nick Burgess played their last matches today. Jett came in and did a great job for his first year playing and Nick has been a three-year starter for us. I really enjoyed those guys and the other new seniors that came out and played this year as well.

"We host at our home course Monday so we have to use that to our advantage."
