St. A Girls, JV Boys, Altamont Claim Golf Wins

Lauren Schwing picked up medalist honors for Effingham St. Anthony as the Bulldogs tallied a 160-224 win over Tuscola in girls golf action at the Effingham Country Club Monday.

Schwing scored a 36 followed by teammates Ellie Wegman and Addie Krouse with a 40 each and Nina Hakman with a 44. Non-counting scores were Sydney Kibler 45, Allison Geen 46, Maddy Brummer 47 and Mia Schwing 61.

Tuscola scorers were Makenna Fiscus 51, Marley Good 51, Addyson Ring 61 and Jocelyn Ford 61. Non-counter was Isabella Stultz 63.

St. Anthony also claimed a boys junior varsity contest, 176-206 over Tuscola.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were co-medalists Ryan Schmidt 41 and Aidan Tegeler 41 and Ethan Karolewicz 46 and Patrick Ciorna 48.

Tuscola scorers were Brayden Gough 44, Jacob Waugh 49, Landon Banta 53 and Thomas Brown 60. 

 

At Windsor

Altamont handed Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg a loss in boys golf competition, 162-217.

Kevin Hall and Tyler Stonecipher were co-medalists with a 38 each. Also scoring for Altamont were Avery Jahraus 40 and Max Runge 46. Non-counters were Zeke Rippetoe 49 and AJ Kopplin 53. The Indans are now 20-3-1 on the season.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Nathaniel Gracy with a 51, Rylan Rincker and Briar Smith with a 53 each and Clayton Carey 60. Brody Hendrickson had a 62 and Jack Holland a 73.

Altamont's lone girl, Madison Splechter had a 57.

The Indians' junior varsity boys had a 51 by Daniel McCammon, a 53 by Alec Jahraus and a 60 by Alex Walker. Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by James Porter 63, Silas Hortenstine 65 and Henry Vonderheide 69.

Altamont returns to action today at Green View Golf Course in Centralia against Christ Our Rock Lutheran.

 

At Teutopolis

Sullivan defeated Teutopolis, 177-188 in golf action at the Effingham Country Club Monday.

Adam Lustig and Ethan Thoele had a 46 each for the Wooden Shoes. Also scoring were Hayden Jansen 47 and Brody Thoele 49. Peyton Tegler had a 53 and Bennet Thompson a 56. The Shoes finish the season with a 4-8 record.

Sullivan was led by Brett Bushue 42, Diepholz 43, Dwyer 46 and Hagen 46. Nont-counters were Ben Bushue 47 and Standifer 53.
