St. Anthony's Jonathan Willenborg Ties For Third At Golf Sectional

ZEIGLER -- Effingham St. Anthony High School's Jonathan Willenborg finished tied for third with a 74 at the Class 1A Zeigler-Royalton Boys Golf Sectional Tuesday.

Winning the sectional was Frankfort's Tyson Elko with a 69 total.

Claiming the team championship was Vandalia with a 310 followed by Breese Mater Dei 316, Waterloo Gibault 320, Trico 326, Belleville Althoff Catholic 327,  Frankfort 327, Marquette Catholic 336, Oblong 337, Carmi-White County 338 and Hamilton County 344.

Willenborg tied with Ty Barbre with a 74 each.

Teammate Thomas Chojnicki took 24th place with an 81.

In the Class 2A Centralia Sectional, Benton was the team champion with 318 followed by Highland 336, Mattoon 342, Jacksonville 346, Paris 355, Carbondale 356, Mascoutah 362 and Chatham Glenwood 367.

Winning the individual title was Cy Norman of Benton with a 68.

Effingham High School's Max Woelfer finished 62nd in the meet with a 107 total.
