Bulldogs Nab Triangular Wins, EHS Girls Victorious

OLNEY -- Effingham St. Anthony nabbed both the boys and girls triangular golf meets at the Richland Country Club Wednesday.

In the boys meet, Thomas Chojnicki claimed medalist honors with a 36 while Jonathan Willenborg was second with a 40. Also scoring were Michael Martelli 42 and Charlie Wegman 45 for a 163 stroke total followed by Olney 176 and Mount Carmel 183.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony tallied 150 followed by Mount Carmel 169 and Olney 205.

Macy Ludwig shot a two-under-par 33 for medalist honors.

"We played really well today and a 150 team score is the best score in the last two years for us and one of the best scores I have seen," said St. Anthony Coach Randy Blake.

Scoring along with Ludwig were Ellie Wegman 37, Lauren Schwing 40 and Reagan Westendorf 40.

At Sullivan

Effingham traveled to the Sullivan Country Club and came home with a 191-233 win over the host squad.

The Hearts were led by Ava Boehm, the medalist, with a 37, Anna Sigg 44, Anna Hirtzel 55 and Annie Frost 55. Non-counters were Ella NIebrugge 57, Marissa Allie 57, Marah Kirk 59 and Emilie Vincent 65.

Scoring for Sullivan were Alyssa Shriver 53, Morgan Moll 59, Abby Kirkwood 60 and Hannah Righter 61. Non-counting scores were Ava Shriver 63 and Lara Herschberger 67.
