St. Anthony Nabs, Boys, Girls Golf Meets

TUSCOLA -- Effingham St. Anthony High School nabbed both a boys and a girls golf meet Thursday at the Iron Horse Golf Course.

 

In the boys meet, the Bulldogs scored 151 followed by Tuscola 188 and Villa Grove 201.

Villa Grove's Zach Buesing was the medalist with a 34. St. Anthony took the next two spots as Michael Martelli and Lane Ludwig scored a 36 each.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Charlie Wegman 39 and Jonathan Willenborg 40.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony was a winner with a 182 followed by Tuscola 198 and Villa Grove 244.

Medalist was the Bulldogs' Ellie Wegman with a 37. Also scoring were Lauren Schwing 45, Cara Hakman 46 and Allison Geen 54.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis hosted Charleston and Paris in girls golf competition at the Effingham Country Club Thursday.

Charleston won the meet with 188 followed by T-town with a 225. Paris had only three golfers.

Averie Bushue shot a 41 for the Wooden Shoes while Mollie Koester had a 59, Abigail Wortman a 61 and Alaina Helmink a 64. Non-counting scores were Lexie Niebrugge 65 and Josie Deters 78.

T-town is now 5-7-1 on the season.
