EHS Girls Claim Apollo Conference Golf Title

LINCOLN -- Effingham High School claimed the championship of the Apollo Conference Girls Golf Tournament Monday.

 

The Hearts tallied a 339 followed by Charleston 412, Mattoon 419, Mount Zion 425, Mahomet-Seymour 447 and Taylorville 550. Lincoln did not have enough players for a team score.

Medalist was Mattoon's Kira Wolf with a 36-39 -- 75.

Effingham then took the next three spots as Ava Boehm finished second with a 38-40 -- 78 while Morgan Krouse followed with a 39-41 -- 80 and Kennedy Collier took fourth with a 41-40 -- 81. Also scoring was Anna Sigg who finished ninth with a 47-53 -- 100.

The Top Eight players are named All-Apollo Conference. Also earning that honor were Charleston's Hannah Harpster fifth with 43-47 -- 90, Mattoon's Callan Haldorsen sixth with 46-45 -- 91, Charleston's Stacey Zerbst seventh with 48-50 -- 98, and Mount Zion's Riley Houser 48-51 -- 99.
