Giving to the Effingham Sportsbackers and the St. Anthony Booster Club topped the $1 million mark Thursday at the 26th Annual Carl P. Koerner Memorial Sports Spectacular.

Koerner Distributor President Paul Koerner said they reached $980,000 in last year's 25th annual event, and proceeds from this year's event generated $42,500 to each city sports program. That $85,000 total put giving over the million mark.

37 teams played in the afternoon flight of the tournament.
