Effingham High School captured the championship of the Effingham St. Anthony Girls Golf Invitational Thursday.

The Hearts tallied 167 followed by St. Anthony 169, Alton Marquette Catholic 180, St. Anthony Two 192, Charleston 193 and Teutopolis 196.

Medalist was Effingham's Abbi Burgess with a 38 while Morgan Krause took third with a 40 and Keira Hirtzel was fourth with a 42. St. Anthony's Ava Wegman was second with a 39 and Clare McHugh finished fifth with a 42.

The other scorer for the Hearts was Kennedy Collier with a 47.

Other scorers for St. Anthony were Morgan Schuette with a 43 and Macy Ludwig 45.

At Altamont

Altamont captured a boys golf match over Okaw Valley Thursday, 181-190.

Medalist was Altamont's Grant Schmidt with a 41. Also scoring for the Indians were Bryton Pruett 45, Kevin Hall 46 and Tyler Stonecipher 49. Non-counter was Addie Smith 51.

Scoring for Okaw Valley were Case Crawford 41, Beau Atchison 46, Addison Weber 46 and Hayden Carlson 57. Non-counter was Miles Harlin 58.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis won a triangular boys golf meet Thursday at the Effingham Country Club.

T-town tallied 180 followed by Casey-Westfield 194 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 243.

Medalist was T-town's Jacob Herd with a 43. Also scoring were Asa Hanson 45, Carter Jansen 46 and Derek Ozenkoski 46.

Scoring for Casey-Westfield were Rodgers 48, Austin 48, Oakley 48 and Huisinga 50. Non-counters were Orell 54 and Hickox 56.

Scoring for WSS were Stremming 50, Reel 60, Wujick 66 and Reynolds 67, Non-counters were Coffman 69 and Sattler 71.
