EHS Girls Nab Triangular, Area Golf Scores

PANA -- Effingham High School claimed a triangular girls golf meet over Mount Zion and host Pana Tuesday.

The Hearts tallied a 165 followed by Pana 210 and Mount Zion 228 at Oak Terrace Golf Course.

Effingham's Ava Boehm and Kiera Hirtzel tied for medalist honors with a 39 each. Also scoring were Morgan Krouse 43 and Abbi Burgess 44. Non-counters were Kennedy Collier 47 and Anna Sigg 49.

Scoring for Pana were Hannah LeDue 48, Lizzie Epley 51, Emma Dilley 55 and Kacie Swisher 56. Non-counters were Josie Pauley 60 and Chloe Hendrickson 64.

Scoring for the Braves were Kynleigh Blake 54, Riley Houser 56, Addison Rhoades 58 and  Madelynn Lutt 60. Non-counters were Lauren Kyburz 66 and Bethany Warner 67.

Taylorville had two golfers competing, Mattie Anderson with a 60 and Emma Wells with a 70.

 

At Effingham

The Effingham boys fell to Charleston a dual golf meet. The Trojans had all four top scorers in the 30's.

Medalist was Preston Smith with a two-under-par 34. Keegan Gowin hit par with a 36 while Ben Lawman had a 37 and Robert Rardin a 38. Non-counters were Blake Wolfe 39 and Zack Will 41.

Scoring for the Hearts were Aiden Beck and Ben Donsbach with a 44 each, Tate Niebrugge with a 45 and Colby Heaton with a 47. Non-counters were Austin Waldhoff 53 and Ryker Schneider 55.

Effingham exhibition scores were Nick Burgess 49, Ethan Ritz 49 and Gabe Eaton 68.

The Hearts are now 4-5 on the season.

 

At Salem

Effingham St. Anthony tallied a 187-193 win over Salem in junior varsity boys action Tuesday.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Ryan Schultz 42, Thomas Chojnicki 43, Alex Erickson 50 and Darin Hutchison 52.

Scoring for Salem were Luke Light who was medalist with a 38, Steven Mulvaney 44, Tyson Mann 50 and Tyler Gillett 61. Non-counter was Levi Bopp with a 71.

 

At Cardinal Golf Course

Teutopolis played host to Robinson and captured a 178-205 victory Tuesday.

Medalist was T-town's Carter Jansen with a 37 followed by Asa Hanson 45, Andy Niebrugge 47 and Zach Ruholl 47. Non-counters were Jacob Herd 49, Derek Ozenkoski 50, Drew Kerner 53 and Gavin Meyer 60.

Scoring for Robinson were Cole Johnson 46, Levi Middleton 49, Nick Weber 51 and Taylor Maxwell 60. Non-counter was Gavin Bean 60.
