EHS Wins Girls Golf Triangular on Tiebreaker

Effingham High School claimed a triangular girls golf meet, winning on a tiebreaker Wednesday at Meadowview Golf Course.

The Hearts and Mattoon finished with a 185 each. The match was then decided on the fifth player's score and that was by Anna Sigg with a 52 for EHS.

Other scorers for the Hearts included Morgan Krouse 43, Kennedy Collier 44, Keira Hirtzel 47 and Abbi Burgess 51.

Mattoon was led by Kira Wolf who was medalist with a 34, Sydney Allee 48, Haleigh Miller 50, Meah Butler 53 and Callan Haldorsen 57.

Scoring for Charleston, who tallied a team total of 201, were Paige Chappell 44, Hannah Harpster 45, Taryn Pierson 54 and Sarah Flight 58. Non-counters were Shekinah Moore 60 and Rileigh Babbs 64.

 

At Windsor

Effingham St. Anthony handed Sullivan a 186-191 junior varsity boys golf loss Wednesday at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Ryan Schultz 41, Thomas Chojnicki 44, Alex Erickson 50 and Darin Hutchison 51.

Scoring for Sullivan were Aiden Short, who was medalist with a 40, Gary Hershburger 48, Camden Dwyer 49 and Dalton Rogers 54. Non-counters were JJ Sandifer 55 and Ian Hill 65.
