St. A, EHS Capture Girls Golf Victories

Effingham High School played host to Sullivan in girls golf competition Wednesday and claimed a 180-215 win.

Abbi Burgess was medalist for the Hearts with a 41. Also scoring were Keira Hirtzel 45, Ava Boehm 47 and Kennedy Collier 47. Also competing were Morgan Krouse 49 and Lindsey Stephenson 50. The Hearts are now 7-3 on the season.

Sullivan was led by Addison Darush 47, Irie Dulin 51, Alexis Britton 58 and Esther Miller 59. Non-counting score was by Miriah  Booker with a 65.

Also playing for the Hearts in exhibition were Anna Sigg 51, Laurel Hirtzel 54, Jaelyn Boone 63 and Makayla Allie 66. Altamont's Addie Smith scored a 53.

In boys action, Mount Carmel was the winner with a 151 followed by St. Anthony 172 and Olney 189.

Mount Carmel had a threesome tie for medalist honors. Dawson Brown, Colton Etzkorn and Brayden Peterson had a 37 each. Also scoring was Blake Golden with a 40. Non-counters were Wade Ruth 42 and Clayton Halbig 47.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Zach Wortman 41, Luke Ludwig 43 and Dylan Ferguson 44. Non-counters were Nathan Schultz 44, Ben Strullmyer 45 and Jayden Rios 47.

Scoring for Olney were Coen McDowell 45, Zach Duenes 47, Jayden Moyes 48 and Logan Muston 49. Non-counters were Ethan Rogers 51 and Ryan Tolliver 52.

At Olney

Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed girl's golf victories over Mount Carmel and Olney in action Wednesday.

The Bulldogs tallied 116 strokes followed by Mount Carmel 150 and Olney 164.

Leading St. Anthony and medaling for the match was Clare McHugh with a 38. Also counting for the Bulldogs were Macy Ludwig 39 and Ava Wegman 39.
