Area Junior High Golfers Compete At State

Five girls and two boys from Effingham St. Anthony Junior High and two girls from Effingham Sacred Heart competed in the State Golf Tournaments in Peoria Saturday.

St. Anthony's Ellie Wegman finished tied for 24th with a score of 96. Lauren Schwing finished 31st with a 99. Madeline Brown took 64th with a 124. Annie Strullmyer was tied for 65th with a 126. Abby Dietzen finished 68th with a 128.

Sacred Heart's Nina Hakman tied for 35th with a 102 total while Ada Rozene tied for 40th with a 104.

In the boys state meet, Thomas Chojnicki tied for 33rd with an 87 while Jonathan Willenborg finished tied for 37th with an 88.
