Hearts Nabs Boys Match, St. A Takes Girls Triangular, Golf Roundup

Effingham High School captured a boys golf victory over Vandalia at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday.

The Hearts had two players at 44, Tate Niebrugge and Aiden Beck. Jacob Sigg tallied a 45 and Brett Koester added a 50. Colby Heaton also had a 50.

Vandalia's Scott Shulman was medalist with a 43. Also scoring were Bryce Dunn 48, Connor Satterthwaite 49 and Nathaniel Weaver 50. Non-counters were Chase Konrad 58 and Cameron Withers 60.

In the girls meet, Effingham St. Anthony captured a triangular over Effingham and Mount Zion. The Bulldogs had a 164 followed by the Hearts 179 and Mount Zion 229.

The Bulldogs' Regan Westendorf was medalist with a three-over-par 39. Also scoring were Ava Wegman 40, Macy Ludwig 41 and Clare McHugh 44. Non-counters were Jessica Coffin 45 and Morgan Schuette 45.

Scoring for the Hearts were Kennedy Collier 43, Abbi Burgess 44, Lindsey Stephenson 45 and Keira Hirtzel 47. Non-counters were Ava Boehm 47 and Morgan Krouse 50.

Mount Zion was led by Isabell Shafer 56, Madelynn Lutt 57, Riley Houser 58 and Bethany Warner 58. Non-counters were Kynleigh Blake 64 and Marie Davis 65.

Altamont had one golfer competing. Addie Smith had a 50.

 

At Tuscola

Effingham St. Anthony's junior varsity boys team finished in the middle of a triangular at Fox Prairie Golf Course Tuesday.

Okaw Valley won with a 172 followed by St. Anthony 181 and Shelbyville 190.

LSA's Dayton Pate was medalist with a 39.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Jayden Rios 44, Luke Flaig 45, Ethan Rozene 45 and Darin Hutchison 47. Non-counters were Alex Erickson 49 and Ryan Schultz 50.

Scoring for Okaw Valley were Case Crawford 42, Austin Harshman 42, Beau Atchison 42 and Tanner Coleman 46. Non-counters were Cam Nickerson 46 and Grace Harlan 48.

Scoring for Shelbyville were Will Leach 44, Owen Ray 47, Kyle Stauder 48 and Cole Evans 51. Non-counters were Jeremiah Ulmer 53 and Chase Trainor 55.

 

At Greenville

Teutopolis finished second in a triangular meet with HIllsboro and Greenville Tuesday.

Hillsboro tallied a 145 followed by Teutopolis 180 and Greenville 207.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Dylan Buenker 42, Carter Jansen 45, Michael Deters 46 and Will Schlink 47.
