Scramble Raises Money For Veteran's Organizations

Seventeen teams participated in an 18 hole scramble at the Cardinal Golf Club Friday.  They raised $884. Over the past 10 years, $11,500 has been raised for donations to veteran's organizations.

This year's winning team was Team #16. At the end of the day, their score was par –15.  Members of Team #16 were George Huntington, Carl Kolbler, Paul Bloemer and Steve Grove.

Those who donated to the event were Jim McDaniel family, Federated Auto Parts, Koerner Distributors, Niemerg's Family Dining, Walmart, Starbucks, Effingham Elks, VFW Altamont, Effingham VFW, Martin's IGA, Effingham K of C, Mason's Sales & Service, The Firefly, Sporty's, Steak 'n Shake, Lion's Liquors and Effingham DAV.

Those who gave of their time and effort to put this together were Manny Wei, Jim Tull, Les Rogers, Joel Holmes, Dennis Quick, Rick Stodden, Mark Ries, Chuck Hoelscher and Dennis Hastings.
