St. Anthony Wins Own Girls Golf Invitational

St. Anthony captured its own golf invitational. Members of the team are, left to right, Regan Koester, Ava Wegman, Abbie Schmidt, Clare McHugh, Abby Repking and Emily Konrad.

Effingham St. Anthony High School won its own girls golf invitational Thursday.

The Bulldogs tallied 175 followed by Effingham 180, Alton Marquette 180, Mattoon 199, Teutopolis 208 and Sandoval 247.

Effingham's Alex Brummer captured medalist honors with a 35. St. Anthony's Ava Wegman was second with a 39. Alton-Marquette's Madi Connors took third with a 41. Fourth went to St. Anthony's Abbie Schmidt with a 44 and fifth was taken by the Bulldogs' Clare McHugh with a 44. Regan Koester finished out the scoring for St. Anthony with a 48. Non-scorers were Abby Repking 51 and Jessica Coffin 56.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis picked up a boys golf triangular win Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes scored a 168 followed by Casey-Westfield 222 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 224.

Scoring for T-town were Dylan Buenker with a 39, Christian Deters with a 41, Braydon Bushue with a 44 and Keegna Meyer with a 44.

 

At St. Elmo

Okaw Valley came calling and downed Altamont 181-220 in boys golf competition at the St. Elmo Golf Course Thursday.

Okaw Valley's Tanner Coleman tallied the top score with a 40. Also scoring were Austin Harshman 46, Cameron Nickerson 47 and Ethan Macklin 48. Non-counters were Case Crawford 49 and Trey Yarnell 59.

Scoring for Altamont were Noah Kopplin 53, Dylan Miller 54, Grant Schmidt 55 and Harrison Fitzjarrald 58. Non-counters were Nathan Hill 60 and Austin Wendling 61.
