Hearts Win Girls Meet, Golf Roundup

SALEM -- Effingham High School downed host Salem 185-239 in girls golf competition Monday.

Alex Brummer was medalist for the Hearts with 42 points followed by Kiera Hirtzel 43, Abbi Burgess 50 and Kennedy Collier 50. Non-counting scores were Jade Depoister 53 and Lindsey Stephenson 62.

Scoring for Salem were Sheridan Mittleton 56, Riley Anderson 57, Cara Cantrell 62 and Ryley Hammond 64. Non-counter was Shelbie Spinner 70.

 

At Pana

Teutopolis finished third in a quadrangular girls meet at Pana Monday.

Williamsville won the meet with 213 followed by Greenville 216, T-town 221 and Pana 231. Medalist was Pana's Teagan Strom with a 41.

Scoring for the Shoes were Madeline Hoene 49, Madison Magee 53, Mattie Thoele 58 and Allie Niebrugge 61. Non-counting scores were Macy Vogt 66 and Maggie Koester 71.

 

At Arcola

Altamont finished third in a three-team boys meet at Arcola's Kaskaskia Country Club Golf Course Monday.

The Purple Riders won with a 167 followed by Sullivan 188 and Altamont 196. Medalist was Arcola's Clayton Miller with a 36.

Scoring for Altamont were Noah Kopplin 45, Grant Schmidt 46, Dylan Miller 48 and Austin Wendling 57. Non-counting scores were Addie Smith 60 and Harrison Fitzjarrald 62.

Scoring for Arcola were Miller, Shandon Herschberger 37, Blake Lindenmeyer 42 and Lucas Hutton 52. Non-counters were Jacob Butler 52 and Dallas Sisk 53.

Scoring for Sullivan were Caden Ellis 40, Leighton Burch 47, Tom Schibur 50 and Tim Lawyer 51. Non-counters were Aiden Short 51 and Luke Delong 57.

 

At Effingham

St. Anthony won its own junior varsity boys golf invitational Monday at Fore Way Golf Course.

The Bulldogs tallied 166 followed by Okaw Valley 179, Effingham 194, Shelbyville 197, Mattoon 199, Teutopolis 206, Maroa-Forsyth 213 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 223.

Medalist was Okaw Valley's Tanner Coleman with a 39.

St. Anthony was led by Ben Strullmyer 40, Zach Wortman 41, Luke Flaig 42 and Ryan Schutlz 43.

Effingham was led by Nate Linders 46, Tommy Hortenstine 48, Aiden Beck 49 and Austin Waldhoff 51.

Scoring for T-town were Carter Jansen 45, Joey Runde 50, Gavin Meyer 52 and Michael Deters 59.

Windsor/Stew-Stras had only four players, Logan Stremming 48, Sterling Howard 51, Eli Howard 57 and Gage Sattler 67.
