Bulldogs Claim Boys Meet, Golf Roundup

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed a boys golf meet over host Robinson Monday at the Quail Creek Country Club.

The Bulldogs tallied a 159 followed by Robinson 194. The Bulldogs' Luke Ludwig was medalist with a 39. Also scoring were Jacob Schmidt 40, Dylan Ferguson 40 and Trey Koester 40. Non-counting scores were Niko Dust 41, Nathan Schultz 40, Zach Wortman 39 and Jayden Rios 39.

Scoring for Robinson were Hunter Givens 41, Takoda Wheeler 48, Alex Weber 51 and Peyton Brown 54. Non-counting were Carson Brown 42, Mason McKee 54, Noah Davis 57, Dylan Smith 58 and Walker Sandschafer 58.

In girls play, Robinson edged the Bulldogs 220 to 222. Robinson's Abby Ferris was medalist with a 48 followed by Leanna Ferguson 52, Maddie Byrley 60 and Nyah Shulte 60.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Claire McHugh 51, Regan Koester 53, Jessica Coffin 54 and Abby Repking 64.

In a junior varsity boys golf match against Flora, the Bulldogs fell 175-183.

Leading St. Anthony was Ben Strullmyer with a 43 followed by Ryan Schultz 45, Luke Flaig 46 and Augie Heal 51. Non-scorers were Ethan Rozene 50 and Alex Erickson 51.

Leading Flora was medalist Aven Kimmel with a 40. Other scorers were Landon Carder 41, Drew Woodrow 46 and Ryder Collins 48. Non-scorers were Ty Warren 48 and Trenton Brown 54.

 

At Effingham

Teutopolis captured a boys triangular golf meet at the Effingham Country Club Monday.

The Wooden Shoes scored 161 followed by Altamont 195 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 209.

Scoring for the Shoes were Keegan Meyer with a 38, Christian Deters 40, Braydon Bushue 41 and Dylan Buenker 42. Non-scorers were Jacob Herd 47 and Will Schlink 48.

The Indians of Altamont were led by Noah Kopplin 46, Dylan Miller 47, Grant Schmidt 48 and Austin Wendling 54. Non-counters were Harrison Fitzjarrald 56 and Addie Smith 59.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg was led by Zach Van Hyfte with a 47. Also scoring were Katie Greuel 50, Logan Stremming 52 and Sterling Howard 60. Non-counters were Gage Sattler 65 and Anthony Curry 67.

 

At Salem

Mattoon won a girls triangular golf meet at Salem Monday.

The Green Wave tallied 204 followed by Teutopolis 231 and Salem 232.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Niebrugge 56, Hoene 58, Thoele 58 and Magee 59.
