OLNEY -- Effingham High School captured second place at the Olney Girls Golf Invitational Wednesday.

Charleston won the meet with 160 followed by Effingham 182, Mattoon 191, Salem 213, Robinson 240, Oblong 256 and Paris 269. Olney had two golfers.

Medalist was Charleston's Lauren Chappell with a 32.

Scoring for Effingham were Alex Brummer with a 44, Jade Depoister with a 45, Abbi Burgess with a 46 and Kennedy Coliler with a 47.

At Charleston

Charleston claimed a quadrangular boys golf meet with 155 followed by Teutopolis 160, Effingham 177 and Casey-Westfield 202.

The Trojans' Ben Iamman and T-town's Keegan Meyer tied for medalist honors with a 38 each. Charleston is now 13-0 on the season.

Scoring for Effingham were Callaway Smith 41, Jacob Sigg 43, Matt Linders 44 and Ryan Sandifer 49.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Meyer 38, Christian Deters 39, Braydon Bushue 40 and Jacob Herd 43.
