Morgan Wilson Competing in Golf for Rend Lake

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Rend Lake College women's golf team moved up to sixth place at the end of the Embry Riddle Eagle Invitational, hosted at LPGA International golf club in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tuesday. RLC finished with a score of 715 (358-357).

Sophomore Lexi Hammerton (Peoria) moved up five places to lead the Lady Warriors and finish 16th with a score of 170 (85-85). Freshman Morgan Wilson (Effingham) also improved four places to finish tied for 20th at 175 (88-87). Day one leader Shelby Johnson (Greenwood, Ind.) fell to 22nd place with a score of 176 (82-94). Metropolis-native Addison Gray tied in 38th with a score of 194 (103-91) and Taylor Aldridge (Eldorado) placed 44th with a score of 201 (104-97).

Host Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Fla. won the invite with a score of 633 (309-324). Texas Wesleyan University of Fort Worth, Texas placed second at 652 (311-341), followed by St. Andrews University of Laurinburg, N.C. at 675 (320-355). Texas Wesleyan's Alex Schies placed first as an individual with a two-day score of 148 (68-80).

The Lady Warriors will compete in the Southern Illinois University Invitational Sunday and Monday at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale.
