EHS Boys, Girls Improve Records

WINDSOR -- Effingham High School was victorious in both boys and girls play at Angus Links Monday.

In the boys' meet, Effingham won with a 161 total followed by Mount Zion 162, Taylorville 171 and Shelbyville 178. The Hearts' Anthony Lechman was medalist with a 36 followed by Mount Zion's Ben Cleveland with a 37.

Also scoring for the Hearts were Anthony Barrett with a 39, Jackson Wendling with a 41 and Sean Sandifer with a 45.

"Anthony Lechman had a good round today to lead us to beat one of the only two teams to get us this year," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "Anthony Barrett was good again shooting a 39. Jackson hit the ball good but struggled on the green. Sean came up big for us with the 45 counting score."

The Hearts improve to 15-2 while Mount Zion is 12-2, Shelbyville 19-13 and Taylorville 18-13.

In the girls' meet, Effingham downed Pana 233-242. Scoring for the Hearts were Morgan Wilson, who was medalist, with a 51, Courtney White 54, Hope Collier 54 and Delaney Hagenseiker 72.
