St. Anthony Wins On JV Golf Tourney, Area Roundup

Effingham St. Anthony captured its own junior varsity golf tournament Monday at Fore Way Golf Course.

The Bulldogs had a 174 followed by Mattoon 179, Teutopolis 189, Okaw Valley 194, Maroa-Forsyth 195, Effingham 108 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 214.

Mattoon's Remington Morrison was medalist with a 38. St. Anthony's Augie Heal finished second with 41 and Nathan Schultz was fourth with 43. T-town's Will Schlink took fifth with 43.

Other scorers for the Bulldogs were Ethan Rozene 44 and Zach Wortman 46.

Scoring for Effingham were Jacob Sigg 44, Nate Linders 51, Colby Heaton 54 and Nick Beck 59.

At Salem

Salem claimed a 181-191 girls golf victory over Effingham Monday.

The Wildcats' Megan Gallatin was medalist with a 36.  Also competing were Riley Anderson 45, Mallory Daniels 46, Emily Baer 54, Brooke Frederick 55 and Cora Cantrell 57.

Alex Brummer led the Hearts with a 38. Also competing were Kaylee Tonn 50, Hope Collier 51, Keira Hirtzel 52, Abbi Burgess 59 and Lindsay Stephenson 67.

 

At Pana

Teutopolis finished fourth in a girls quadrangular Monday at Oak Terrace Golf Course.

Williamsville won with a 170 followed by Pana 213, Greenville 215 and Teutopolis 220. Medalist was Williamsville's Emily Hergert with a 40.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Madison Magee 51, Maddie Hoene 52, Katie Thoele 57 and Allie Niebrugge 60.

 

At Sullivan

Host Sullivan tallied a 180 while Altamont was just two strokes back at 182 and Arcola tallied a 184.

Medalist was Arcola's Clayton Miller with a 36.

Scoring for Altamont were Dylan Miller 43, Logan Deadmond 44, Cameron Jackman 47 and Adam Mayhaus 48. The Indians are now 9-4 on the season.
