EHS Girls Suffer Golf Loss To Charleston

Effingham High School hosted Charleston in girls golf competition Thursday and suffered a 170-181 loss.

The Trojans' Lauren Chappell was the medalist with a 36. Also scoring for the Trojans were Aislinn Parish 44, Morgan Sherwood 45 and Paige Chappell 45. Non-counting scores were Ally O'Dell 51 and Haley Walker 52.

Scoring for the Hearts were Hope Collier 41, Alex Brummer 42, Kaylee Tonn 47 and Keira Hirtzel 51. Non-counting scores were Lindsay Stephenson 57 and Abbi Burgess 60.

 

At Taylorville

Effingham St. Anthony competed in a boys and girls meet at Oak Terrace Golf Course Thursday.

In the boys meet, Pana was the winner with 174 followed by Taylorville 189 and St. Anthony JV 193. Low individuals were Kody Bland of Pana and Jim LaMarche of Pana with a 42 each.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Zach Wortman 45, Will Willenborg 48, Jacob Schmidt 50 and Augie Heal 50.

In the girls meet, Raymond Lincolnwood was the winner with 204 followed by St. Anthony 206 and Pana 222.

Medalist was Lincolnwood's Calie Krager with a 43.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Abbie Schmidt 47, Ava Wegman 49, Kyla Burton 54 and Clare McHugh 56.

At St. Elmo

Altamont claimed a junior varsity victory over Teutopolis Thursday. Altamont tallied a 192 followed by Teutopolis 212.

Altamont's Dylan Miller was medalist with a 42. Also scoring were Luke Behl 43, Noah Kopplin 49 and Logan Sims 58. Non-counting scores were Harrison Fitzjarrald 60 and Austin Wendling 64.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Joey Runde 49, Jacob Herd 52, Carter Jansen 55 and Will Schlink 56. Non-counters were Michael Deters 56 and Jake Wente 67.

Others competing were Altamont's Garner Myers 70, Addie Smith 71 and Jayci Quast 71 along with T-town's Asa Hanson 60 and Collin Pruemer 59.
