St. Anthony Claims Boys Golf Win Over Charleston

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony handed Charleston a loss in boys high school golf competition Thursday, 175-194.

Zach Wortman was medalist for the Bulldogs with a 41. Also scoring were Nathan Schultz 44, Trey Koester 45 and Dylan Ferguson 45. Non-counting scores were Will Willenborg 49, Ethan Rozene 51, Augie Heal 54 and Alex Erickson 57.

The Trojans were led by Jonah Becker and Josh Pluard with a 48 each. Austin Talbert had a 50 and Koltin Winnett a 52. Non-counters were Jake Dennison 52, Alex Geisler 56, Ethan Dow 57, Hadden Finney 58 and Seth Ryan 61.

 

At Vandalia

Vandalia took a three-team golf meet on its on course Thursday. The Vandals tallied 182 while Ramsey had 184. The Altamont junior varsity competed but no score was recorded.

Altamont had four players scoring, Luke Behl witha 49 while Austin Wendling had a 59. Addie Smith tallied a 63 and Jayci Quast a 67.

Vandalia scorers were Scottie Shulman 39, Alec Schroeder 42, Nathaniel Weaver 49 and Bryce Dunn a 52. Non-counters were Levi Cox 52 and Zach McCaslin 55.

Scoring for Ramsey were Brady Reiss 40, Marckus Coss 46, Mason Fesser 48 and Cameron Neisle 50. Non-counters were Logan Ernest 52 and Zeke Cassidy 62.
