St. Anthony Girls Golf Squad Wins Tourney

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony picked up the championship of the Fifth Annual Lady Trojan Scramble Golf Tournament Thursday.

The Bulldogs tied with host Charleston but won the scorecard playoff because of its third score of 43. Third went to Mattoon 82 followed by Teutopolis 88, Mount Zion 88, Pana 94 and Effingham 95.

Madison and Mariah Bushue tallied a 39 for a third-place finish. Miranda Rohlfing and Kyla Burton tallied a 41 and Emmie Schultz and Sara Ragland had a 43. Proximity Long Drive on No. 3 went to Mariah Bushue. Closest to the pin on No. 8 went to Schultz.

Charleston's Maddy Burgett and Elenor Methzen led all golfers with a 37. Effingham's White/Wilson tied for fourth with a 40.
