EHS Girls Claim Golf Win, Altamont Boys Second, St. A JV Invite Results

SALEM -- Effingham claimed a victory over Salem in girls high school golf competition Monday, 185-202.

The Hearts' Morgan Wilson shot a 41 and was medalist for the meet. Also scoring for EHS were Alex Brummer 43, Kaylee Tonn 50 and Madison Weis 51. Non-counting scores were Hope Collier 53 and Camryn Heuerman 81.

Salem was led by Megan Gallatin with a 45. Also scoring were Mallory Daniels 47, Emily Baer 52 and Cora Cantrell 58. Non-counting were Sydney Holst 59 and Riley Anderson 62.

Effingham is now 8-3 on the season.

 

At Effingham

The Effingham St. Anthony Junior Varsity Invitational took place Monday at Foreway Golf Course. St. Anthony won with a 173 followed by Mattoon 173, Maroa-Forsyth 196, Okaw Valley 199 and Teutopolis 209. Effingham competed but had only three players. The Bulldogs won on their fifth score that was a 51 while Mattoon's fifth score was a 53.

Medalist was Mattoon's JJ Bullock with a 38 followed by Effingham's Ryan Sandifer 39, Mattoon's Wesley Ott 40, Mattoon's CJ Meeker 42 and St. Anthony's Niko Dust 43 in the top five.

At St. Elmo

Altamont finished second in a three-team meet at the St. Elmo Golf Course. Arcola won with a 167 followed by Altamont 188 and Sullivan 208.

Medalist was Arcola's Clayton Miller with a 36. Also scoring for the winners were Chris Davis 41, Shandon Herschberger 45 and Blake Lindenmeyer 45. Non-counting scores were Parker Ingram 55 and Dylan Bugos 59. The Purple Riders are 14-2.

Scoring for the Indians were Adam Mayhaus 40, Cameron Jackman 46, Logan Deadmond 51 and Dylan Miller 51. Non-counting were Noah Kopplin 56 and Luke Behl 57. Altamont is now 4-11.

Scoring for Sullivan were Sam Mulligan 50, Kenneth Farley 51, Kent Taber 53 and Tommy Schiber 54. Non-counting were Joey Davison 56 and Adam White 58. The Redskins are 6-10.
