Charleston Edges EHS in Girls Golf, Cumberland Wins Boys Meet

CHARLESTON -- The homestanding Charleston Trojans edged Effingham in high school girls golf action at Charleston Country Club Wednesday, 184-190.

Effingham's Morgan Wilson and Charleston's Lauren Chappell shared medalist honors with a 38 each. Also scoring for the Hearts were Alex Brummer 46, Hope Collier 50 and Madison Weis 56. Kaylee Tonn added a 57.

Charleston's scores came from Chappell, Morgan Sherwood 40, Ally O'Dell 52 and Abby Youngblood 54. Non-counter was Aislinn Parish 60.

 

At Windsor

Cumberland claimed a three-team boys golf meet at Fox Prairie. The Pirates tallied 212 followed by Windsor 215 and Neoga, no score.

Neoga's Luke  Baker was medalist with a 35. Cumberland's Hayden Kanizer tallied a 51 while Austin Light had a 52, Nick Kimble a 54, Reilly Mathenia a 55 and Patrick Utter a 62.

Windsor was led by Warner with a 37, Gruel a 54, VanHyfte a 61, Boyer a 63 and Howard a 65.
