Folk Sends Jets Past Falcons On "MNF"

(Atlanta, GA) -- Nick Folk booted a 43-yard field goal as time expired to send the Jets to a 30-28 win over the Falcons at the Georgia Dome on "Monday Night Football." The Jets held a ten-point halftime lead before Atlanta stormed back in the fourth quarter to take a one-point advantage. Geno Smith then led New York down the field in the final minute for the winning score.  The rookie signal-caller finished 16-of-20 for 199 yards with three touchdowns as Gang Green improved to 3-2. Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez says they aren't going to give up on the season.

Matt Ryan threw for 319 yards with two touchdowns but lost a fumble in the defeat. Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 43 yards and two touchdowns as Atlanta fell to 1-4.

 

NFL To Scrap Pink Penalty Flags

(New York, NY  -- The NFL is doing away with pink penalty flags. Referees across the league used pink penalty flags on Sunday as the NFL celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Combined with pink elements on player uniforms, playing fields and even television graphics, it apparently made it too difficult for the home viewer to tell when a flag had been thrown.

 

Bears Lose DT Collins To ACL Tear

(Lake Forest, IL) -- The Bears are down another defensive tackle following Sunday's loss to the Saints. Nate Collins tore the ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season. Collins joins fellow tackle Henry Melton on the sidelines. Melton tore his ACL earlier this year against the Steelers. Chicago is expected to bring in several defensive tackles today for a tryout.

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is dispelling any notion that his wide receiver Brandon Marshall is unhappy. Marshall spoke out after Sunday's loss and displayed a lot of frustration in how he was being used in the offense. Cutler says Marshall is "in a great place" after the two talked Monday.

 

Rams' Stacy Earns Another Start

(St, Louis, MO) -- The Rams rookie running back Zac Stacy will stay a top the running back depth chart. The fifth-round draft pick out of Vanderbilt picked up 78 yards on 14 carries in his first career start in the Rams 34-20 win over Jacksonville on Sunday. Coach Jeff Fisher confirmed yesterday that Stacy will start in the Rams' Week Six game against the Houston Texans.
