49ers Bounce Back With Rout Of Rams

(St. Louis, MO) -- Colin Kaepernick threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns as the 49ers bounced back with a 35-11 rout of the Rams in St. Louis. Frank Gore rushed for a season-high 153 yards and a TD, while Anquan Boldin had five catches for 90 yards and a score for the Niners, who snapped a two-game losing streak and evened their record at 2-2. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh says Gore played a terrific game.

Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon also had touchdown runs in the win. Sam Bradford finished 19-of-41 for 202 yards with a TD, but threw an interception, lost a fumble and was sacked five times. Daryl Richardson was limited to 16 yards on 12 carries for the Rams, who managed just 188 yards of offense. St. Louis is 1-3.

Rams rookie safety T.J. McDonald suffered a major leg injury in the third quarter of a 35-11 loss to the 49ers Thursday. NFL.com reports that he suffered a fractured leg. McDonald was a third-round draft pick who has been a starter all season.  He was fitted for an air cast and carted off the field. Cornerback Cortland Finnegan left early in the game with a thigh injury and did not return.

 

Bears At Lions

(Detroit, MI) -- The Chicago Bears are on the road this Sunday at the Detroit Lions. The Bears are coming off a 40-23 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Chicago is 3-0 with wins over Cincinnati and Minnesota. Detroit is 2-1 with wins over Minnesota and Washington.


Tigers, Illini In Action This Weekend

Missouri hosts Arkansas State on Saturday in college football. The Tigers are undefeated at 3-0. Illinois plays a non-league game against Miami of Ohio at Memorial Stadium. The Fighting Illini are 2-1 while Miami of Ohio is 0-3.
 

EA Won't Producer NCAA Football Game Next Year

Video game publisher Electronic Arts won't be producing an NCAA football game next year. It may stop producing the title altogether. EA is mired in lawsuits over players' likenesses in the game. EA general manager Cam Weber says the legal issues are leaving the company in a tough spot when it comes to its goal of delivering an authentic college sports experience.
