(New York, NY) -- The Denver Broncos could be without linebacker Von Miller for some of the season. Miller is facing a likely six-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy.  According to multiple reports, Miller's representatives have been negotiating with the league to try and get the suspension reduced to four games. The 24-year-old had 18 1/2 sacks for Denver last season. If he gets six games, Miller wouldn't be eligible to play until October 20 at Indianapolis. Not only is Von Miller dealing with a possible suspension from the NFL, but he could soon be called to court as a witness in a death penalty case. The "Denver Post" reports that Miller is a potential witness in the death penalty murder case against Dexter Lewis, who is accused of stabbing five people at a Denver bar in October. Miller's name is on a list of over 100 potential witnesses, but there's no indication that the linebacker knows anyone involved in the case.

Pats' Gronkowski A Long Shot For Week One

(Foxboro, MA) -- It's looking more and more like the New England Patriots won't have tight end Rob Gronkowski on the field for the start of the season. ESPN's Adam Schefter cites a source as saying it's "unrealistic" and a "huge stretch" to think "Gronk" could play against the Buffalo Bills in Week One. Gronkowski had forearm and back surgery during the offseason. The Patriots will have to decide whether they want to carry him on the 53-man roster until he is ready, or place him on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which would sideline him for at least the first six games.
