Football Returns As Cowboys Beat Dolphins

(Canton, OH) -- Football is officially back after last night's Hall of Fame Game from Canton. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins 24-20 in the annual preseason contest. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was given the game off with Dallas having five preseason games. The game marked the end of Hall of Fame weekend which saw seven new members inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

 

Former Baltimore Colts Legend Art Donovan Dies

(Timonium, MD) -- The Baltimore football community is mourning the loss of a former Colts legend. Defensive tackle Art Donovan has died at the age of 88. Donovan passed away after battling a respiratory ailment. The affectionately nicknamed "Fatso" played 12 seasons in the NFL after being drafted in 1947 out of Boston College. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968 and was a two-time NFL Champion with the Colts.

 

NCAA Looking Into Manziel Autographs

The NCAA is looking into memorabilia signed by last year's Heisman Trophy winner. ESPN's "Outside the Lines" sites two sources saying that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel signed memorabilia for a five-figure flat fee while visiting South Florida for the BCS National Championship Game in January. The sources saw the signings but did not witness any exchange of money.
