Paterno Family To Sue NCAA

The family of Joe Paterno and several Penn State University trustees and former players are suing the NCAA. The announcement of the lawsuit came on NBC Sports Network's "Costas Tonight." Paterno family attorney Wick Sollers says they are filing a lawsuit against the NCAA, NCAA president Mark Emmert and Ed Ray, who is the chariman of the NCAA Executive Committee.

The NCAA sanctioned Penn State in wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal. Among the severe penalties handed down were a 60-million-dollar fine, a four-year post-season ban and the vacating of all wins dating back to 1998.  With the removal of those wins, Paterno's career total went from 409 to 298, dropping him from first to 12th on the winningest NCAA football coach list.
